The VS-R265 is a 4K/UHD AV over IP streaming encoder and decoder that simultaneously records, encodes, streams, and decodes 4K video streams (3840x2160) using High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), a high efficiency coding scheme that delivers H.264 video quality at half the bit rate.
The VS-R265 4K live stream encoder addresses the growing demand for an external stand-alone encoder for 4K live streaming environments. The VS-R265 functions as a YouTube encoder and also provides live video streaming to popular Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) including Wowza, Ustream, AWS Elemental MediaLive and CloudFront, to name a few. The half-rack size VS-R265 functions as a stand-alone unit—no external computer is needed for recording or streaming.
